posting: intermediate geophysicist
True North is seeking applicants for the position of Intermediate Geophysicist to join our growing team. If you’re motivated and looking to grow as an experienced consulting Geophysicist, True North is the place for you.
​
Fieldwork will be based across Ontario. The weekly schedule will generally run Monday to Friday with the potential for some weekend work.
​
Job Responsibilities
​
An an Intermediate Geophysicist your daily job responsibilities will consist of either field work, interpretation, reporting or proposal writing. You will be interacting with clients and representing True North Geophysics when on a job site. You will:

Complete field geophysics surveys with little supervision, ensuring high quality data is being collected while in the field

Undertake geophysical investigations in a variety of environments and terrains, and in all weather conditions

Provide support to other team members both in the field and office
-
Have a "safety first" attitude at all times

Perform other duties as needed

Skills and Qualifications
​
As an Intermediate Geophysicist working for True North you will have:
​

Bachelor of Science in Geology or Geophysics
-
Minimum of 5 years experience as a practicing Geophysicist
-
Practical experience with two or more of the following:
-
Seismic Refraction / Reflection
-
MASW
-
ERI
-
Ground Penetrating Radar
-
Borehole Geophysical Methods
-
Electromagnetics
-
Magnetometry
-
-
Experience related to geotechnical applications of geophysics
-
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
-
Report writing skills
-
Ability to work in the field, sometimes in remote areas and have a valid drivers license
-
Eligible to obtain P.Geo certification in Ontario
